About Race for Peace

Carrera por la Paz, or Race for Peace, is a fundraising 5K run/walk event organized by the Little Village Rotary Club.

Event Objectives

  • Reduce violence in Little Village and surrounding communities through our grants.

  • Get those same communities, including the business community, involved in our race and violence reduction efforts.

  • Involve and unite organizations that are currently implementing programs and projects to reduce violence.

  • Raise funds to support those programs which present viable proposals.

Visit our Community Impact page to see how we’ve carried out our objectives year after year.

Race for Peace is a Community event

Every year, Race for Peace organizers work with race experts such as CARA, the City of Chicago Police Department, the Little Village Chamber of Commerce, the Alderman’s Office and other interested businesses and organizations.
